Social Welfare - Schemes

1. SCHOLARSHIP TO THE STUDENT WITH DISABILITIES:
   
Objectives of the Scheme:- Students having minimum 40% disabilities are Provided  scholarship @ Rs. 2400/- per annum per beneficiary (PA/PB) (Rs. 200/- monthly) for education purpose.
                                      
How and from whom benefit is to be obtained: - Application in prescribed format invited through advertisement from the Directorate of Social Welfare, Assam. The received application forms scrutinized and after approval of the Deputy Commissioner the approved beneficiary list (Hard & Soft Copy) submitted with bank account numbers of beneficiaries to the Directorate of Social Welfare, Assam. The Directorate of Social Welfare, Assam e-transfer the assistance directly to the account numbers of  beneficiaries.
                   
2. SCHOLARSHIP TO THE PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED STUDENTS  PURSUING MEDICAL & TECHNICAL EDUCATION:

Objectives of the Scheme:- Students with Disabilities having minimum 40% of Disabilities and pursuing Medical and Technical Education are provided @Rs. 3000/- per Month/ per Beneficiary (Yearly 36,000/-).        
                   
How and from whom benefit is to be obtained :- Application in  prescribed format invited (yearly) through advertisement from the Directorate of Social  Welfare, Assam. The received application forms  scrutinized and after approval of the Deputy Commissioner the approved beneficiary list (Hard & Soft Copy) submitted with bank account numbers of beneficiaries to the Directorate of Social Welfare, Assam. The Directorate of Social Welfare, Assam e-transfer the assistance directly to the account numbers of  beneficiaries.
                   
3. DEEN DAYAL DIVYANGJAN PUNAR SANTHAPAN ACHANI:

Objectives of the Scheme:- Person with disabilities having minimum 40% disabilities under the age group of 18 to 50 years, HSLC passed with Skill Development Training are provided (One Time) assistants @ Rs.20,000/- in two installments (First installment Rs. 12,000/- & Second Installment Rs. 8,000/-) as rehabilitation grant for livelihood.
                                
How and from whom benefit is to be obtained :- Application in prescribed format invited (yearly) through advertisement from the Directorate of Social Welfare, Assam. The received application forms scrutinized and placed before the DLSC and  approved beneficiary list (Hard & Soft Copy) submitted with bank account numbers of beneficiaries to the Directorate of Social Welfare, Assam. The Directorate of Social Welfare, Assam e-transfer the assistance directly to the account numbers of  beneficiaries.
    
4. DEEN DAYAL DIVYANGJAN PENSION ACHONI:

Objectives of the Scheme:- Person with disabilities having minimum 40% disabilities and certificate obtained from Govt. authority and valid bank account are provided pension @Rs.1,000/- PM/PB for taking care of  their health. No age bar and educational qualification are required for the purpose to getting  the benefits.

How and from whom benefit is to be obtained :- Application in  prescribed format invited through advertisement from the Directorate of Social Welfare, Assam. Application forms provided in ICDS and District Offices accordingly. Anganwadi Workers make aware the beneficiaries widely and received the filled up forms. Received application forms scrutinized and placed before the DLSC and  approved beneficiary list (Hard & Soft Copy) submitted with bank account numbers of beneficiaries to the Directorate of Social Welfare, Assam. The Directorate of  Social Welfare, Assam e-transfer the pension amount directly to the account numbers of beneficiaries.

5. PRDAHAN MANTRI MATRU VANDANA YOJANA (PMMVY):

Objectives of the Scheme:- The objective of the scheme is to provide partial compensation for the wage loss in terms of cash incentives so that the woman can take adequate rest before  and after delivery of the first living child. The cash incentive provided would lead to improved health seeking behavior amongst the Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers (PW&LM).

How and from whom benefit is to be obtained :- The eligible women desirous of availing maternity benefits are required to register under the scheme at the Anganwadi Centre (AWC). The prescribed form(s) can be obtained from the AWC free of cost. The beneficiary would be required to fill up the prescribed scheme forms for registration and claim of the installment and submit the same at the Anganwadi Centre.

          a) For registration and claim of first installment, duly filled Form 1-A along with copy of MCP Card (Mother and Child Protection Card), Proof of Identity of Beneficiary and her Husband (Aadhaar Card or permitted Alternate ID Proof of both) and Bank/ Post Office Account details of the beneficiary is required to be submitted.
          b) For claiming second installment, beneficiary is required to submit duly filled up Form 1-B after six months of pregnancy, along with the copy of MCP Card showing at least one ANC.
          c). For claiming third installment, beneficiary is required to submit duly filled up Form 1-C along with copy of child birth registration and copy of MCP card showing that the child has received first cycle of immunization or its equivalent/substitute.    

6. POSHAN ABHIYAAN:

Objectives of the Scheme:- POSHAN Abhiyaan is a multi-ministerial convergence mission With the vision to ensure attainment of malnutrition frees India by 2022. The objective of POSHAN Abhiyaan to reduce stunting in identified Districts of India with the highest malnutrition burden by improving utilization of key Anganwadi Services and improving the quality of Anganwadi Services delivery. Its aim to ensure holistic development and adequate nutrition for pregnant women, mothers and children. It also targets stunting, under-nutrition, anaemia (among young children, women and adolescent girls) and low birth rate. POSHAN Abhiyaan is a flagship programme to improve nutritional outcomes for children,adolescents, pregnant women and lactating mothers by leveraging technology, a targeted approach and convergence.

How and from whom benefit is to be obtained:- Financial benefit to any beneficiary is not provided under this scheme. Allotted fund as IEC and CBE provided to the Supervisors and Anganwadi Workers through respective Child Development Protection Officers for performing various events and mass awareness of the community on Malnutrition, Anaemia, low birth rate etc. through POSHAN Staff and ICDS functionaries.
